Katie Salen and Eric Zimmerman co-authored the book Rules of Play considered the standard textbook for game design. Rules of Play is a game design textbook that takes a deep look at card games, board games, social games, and physical games, as well as computer and electronic games.
Eric Zimmerman is a game designer who has been working in the game industry for more than 20 years. Zimmerman created dozens of games of all kinds, from massively multiplayer online games to physical games for galleries and museums to card and board games. Inventing new forms of play is my life’s passion. Zimmerman teaches at MIT, School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, and the NYU Game Center, where he is a full-time Arts Professor at Tisch School of the Arts.
